Woodstock advocates for a wide-range of reforms with respect to our financial system. The check-cashing system in this country reflects a deplorable, but not uncommon, misalignment. By that, I mean those who have less pay more. Put another way, it is very expensive to be poor. As a price to participate in our economy, lower income folks are hit will all sorts of fees that essentially target them: late fees, overdraft fees, credit limit fees, and check-cashing fees.
