Last year, thousands of consumers filed complaints with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) regarding financial products. In Illinois, complaints from consumers focused on mortgage services, banking services, credit cards, and other critical services.
On our June 18 webinar, CFPB staff will demonstrate how to submit complaints from consumers and how they are used to resolve issues. Woodstock Institute staff will also go through the process of how to submit written comments to CFPB on proposed policies.
Submitting complaints from consumers is a critical way to inform CFPB of how consumers are being treated in our communities. With help from the CFPB, thousands of consumers have had their complaints resolved with their financial institutions, and we know that these make up only a fraction of the issues consumers experience. We need your help to let the CFPB know about the issues your clients are facing so that more consumers can get fair treatment from their banks, mortgage lenders, payday lenders, and more.
