Director of Research
Lauren Nolan joined the Woodstock Institute in 2017 as the Director of Research. Lauren manages Woodstock’s research team and oversees its applied research initiatives. Lauren has an extensive background in community and economic development research and technical assistance with a focus on data, research methods, and policy analysis. Prior to joining the Woodstock Institute, Lauren served as a researcher and economic development planner at the Voorhees Center for Neighborhood and Community Improvement—a research and technical assistance center housed in the College of Urban Planning & Public Affairs at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She has also taught Policy Analysis Methods at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Lauren holds a Master of City Planning from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Sociology from the University of Notre Dame. Lauren is a certified planner and member of the American Institute of Certified Planners.
